This exhibition was developed to generate a dialogue between the collections of the Museo Nacional de Arte and the artworks of the artist, which render account of the links between contemporary art and the collections of the museum. Realismo Aumentado is an exhibition that derives from the meaning that the artist gives to the objects that he has represented and offers us the possibility of observing them with detail through a dialogue that locates them in a different context. The countryside, religion, nature and the beliefs are formed as a code of what possibly means “Mexican” and of that which identifies us as Mexicans by means of the symbols that Hugo Laurencena voluntarily extracted as part of our tradition.
