Consumption. Prix Pictet is an exhibition that gathers the eleven finalists of the fifth cycle of the prize founded in 2008 by The Pictet Group, a Swiss bank of investments and management of private heritage, established in 1805.

From its creation, Prix Pictet has focused on promoting photography that deals with sustainability matters, especially, those regarding the environment. The water, soil, growth, and power are themes that have an impact on humanity and are a cause of controversy nowadays. In 2014, the prize focused on consumption.

Approximately 70 of the most recognized photographers of the world have been finalists of the Prix Pictet, among those we include 4 winners: Benoît Aquin, Nadav Kander, Mitch Epstein y Luc Delahaye.

275 selectors from 66 countries participated in the evaluation of the works of 700 photographers worldwide. At the beginning of May, Michael Schmidt was named the winner of Consumption by Kofi Annan, honorary president of Prix Pictet, in the Victoria & Albert Museum of London for his monumental series about the food industry: Lebensmittel
