The exhibition Gerardo Murillo, Dr. Atl 1875-1965. Conciencia y Paisaje was a walkthrough that began in the Museo Nacional de Arte, between December of 1984 and March of 1985, and concluded in the Palacio de Minería. It was embodied by a visual and historical narrative that began from his formative period and his first contact with the artistic avant-gardes until his infinite number of paintings dedicated to the Paricutín volcano; the intervention of the the artist in cultural projects, the revolutionary movements and his gradual process of drifting to the right movement, which led him to favor the Nazi fascism.

It was retrospective exhibition organized by the National Autonomous University of Mexico and the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA).
